Ferricon Metallic Floor Hardener is a metallic dry-shake surface hardener specially formulated to provide a tough, durable, and highly wear-resistant concrete surface. It is composed of specially processed ductile iron particles blended with high-quality Portland cement and performance-enhancing additives. When applied on freshly laid concrete, it becomes an integral part of the floor surface, producing a dense, non-dusting, and long-lasting finish. This product is designed to resist impact, abrasion, and heavy traffic loads, making it ideal for industrial and commercial applications where superior floor performance is required.
Specification:
Composition: Graded metallic (iron) aggregates, Portland cement, and chemical additives.
Form: Ready-to-use dry powder for dry-shake application.
Colour: Natural metallic grey (custom colours may be available on request).
Hardness: 8–9 on the Mohs scale (approximate).
Application rate: Typically 4–7 kg/m² depending on traffic conditions and performance requirements.
Compressive strength: Comparable or higher than the base concrete (above 70 MPa when fully cured, depending on concrete grade).
Surface characteristics: Dense, non-slip, non-dusting, spark-resistant, and oil-resistant.
Bonding: Becomes monolithic with the base concrete when applied at the correct stage of setting.
Shelf life: Approximately 12 months if stored in a dry, sealed condition.
Advantages:
Provides an extremely hard, durable, and wear-resistant floor surface.
Excellent resistance to impact, abrasion, and mechanical wear.
Reduces dusting and surface deterioration of concrete floors.
Non-slip and spark-resistant surface suitable for heavy-duty operations.
Resistant to oils, greases, and mild chemicals.
Increases the service life of floors and reduces long-term maintenance costs.
Capable of withstanding heavy rolling and point loads.
Produces an attractive, smooth, and dense surface finish.
Economical and easy to apply as part of normal concrete flooring work.
Minimizes repair and downtime due to surface failure or dusting.
Note: Being metallic, it should not be used in continuously wet, humid, or chemically aggressive environments, as the iron content may rust and stain the floor. For such areas, non-metallic or quartz-based hardeners are recommended.
Application Areas:
Industrial floors and manufacturing plants
Warehouses and godowns
Workshops and machine shops
Loading bays and truck terminals
Parking areas and garages
Power plants and substation floors
Foundries and forging units
Railway platforms and maintenance depots
Aircraft hangars and service areas
