Conbond is a single component polymer based concrete adhesive used for repairing eroded concrete structures. Its application on old surfaces like R.C.C., Brick, Ceramic Tile, etc provides new concrete or rendering a dependable 100% monolithic bond.

Because of its plasticity, it forms a resilient bond, which will not break under the strain caused by thermal movements. It eliminates shrinkage cracks that usually appear around the repair patches and is not affected by the alkalinity of cement.

Areas Of Usage:

  • The area where Conbond scores over other conventional means of repairing are the wide scope of usage
  • Bonding new concrete to old set concrete.
  • Repairing and strengthening eroded R.C.C. Structures like Slab, Beam, Column, etc.
  • Monolithic bonding traffic topping to the entirely roughcast floor, decks, ramps, pavements, etc.
  • Jacketing and Grouting masonry or R.C.C. Structures.
  • Repairing cracked masonry and the joint between Brick masonry and R.C.C. Members.
  • Effective as an adhesive on non-porous surfaces like stone, wood, concrete, ceramic tiles, etc.
  • Joining concrete or masonry with wood.

Direction To Use :
Repairing The R.c.c. Structures:
Surface Preparation :

  • Rernove oil, grease, paint and dust etc from the surface.
  • Rake out defective portions of concrete, exposing the reinforcement.
  • Remove the loose scale and rust from the reinforcement with a wire brush or emery paper.
  • Apply RUSTRIP rust convertor on reinforcement bars.
  • Remove traces of dust on the surface with clean water.
  • Keep the surface wet until the application of the base coat begins.

Application :
Apply 1-2 mm thick Adhesive slurry with a brush on the pre-wetted surface evenly so as to cover the base surface and reinforcement bars. Follow the application of a plastering; concrete mortar prepared as mentioned in the table before the adhesive slurry dries.
Add sufficient amount of wet part to the dry aggregate mix to prepare workable mortar.
It the plaster thickness exceeds 25 mm, it would be advisable to repair the surface with concrete mortar as mentioned in table by leaving a space of 15-mm thickness. Finish the surface with plastering mortar as mentioned in the table.

Repairing Joints / Cracks:
For repairing the cracks and joints, open out the crack/joint in a V shape to a size of 25 elm x 25 ram. Chisel out the plaster about 2" on either side of the cracks or joints. Then apply the adhesive slurry and fill up the crack with the prepared mortar mentioned h the table.

Bonding New Concrete To Old Set Concrete:
Conhond effectively bonds new concrete with old set concrete. The procedure is very simple. Mix 5 parts of Conbond with 1 part of water and add 2 parts of cement to prepare thick slurry. Apply the slurry 2 - 3 mm thick on the old surface immediately before shading the concreting work.

Jacketing:
For the best results in jacketing, the damaged columns / beams have to be repaired first using Gonbond to regain as original shape keeping the surface rough.

If the steel bars are required to be grouted in the old structure, we suggest the use of Conceal - Epoxy putty, to hold the bar firmly with the old structure.
Before casting the concrete all around the column / beam, apply adhesive slurry prepared as mentioned in the table on the pre-wetted surface. Immediately pour the concrete alter applying the adhesive shiny.
